An organizational chart illustrates the hierarchycal structure of different organizations, such as financial, retailing or medical. It is designed to fit the needs of human resources management and office administration.

Using Workflow Diagrams can be helpful in business process management. By visualizing all the tasks, which need accomplishment, one can most effectively allocate them to departments and individual employees. As for the Software Diagrams, they are ideal for software developers and program managers who need to interpret applications, using the Unified Modeling Language (UML). For network administrators, there are pre-drawn Network Diagrams representing computers and the variety of devices. Business Diagrams are a real finding for managers and economists. The sales and replanning diagrams, as well as target performance management diagrams are essential for the day-to-day running of the company.

I can create great looking charts using Edraw you can too!

Edraw is designed primarily for doing business graphics. Things like organizational charts, flowcharts, and the like. At the same time, however, it can also be fun to use in the home. In this setting you can use Edraw to create lists for household chores, to-do lists of projects, organize camping trips for Scouting groups, and more. Edraw is easy-to-use and that may be its greatest appeal. I’m certainly no artist and even I can create great looking charts using Edraw you can too!

One really nice feature of Edraw is that it automatically aligns things like text. It also aligns shapes and lines. Many similar products I’ve evaluated make you align text and objects. Edraw also has a built-in library of design styles. This lets you pick the textures, colors, and even shadows for your drawings quickly and easily. You’ll find the interface of Edraw very intuitive.  It’s Visio like and with the same operator with Microsoft Office. Very nice programming and easy to use!

Edraw supports OLE (Object Linking and Embedding) so it can work with other products that also support OLE. Such products include Microsoft Office, Auto CAD and many others. In evaluating Edraw, I actually created a chart and then inserted it into a Word For Windows document as an “object.” This type of feature gives you a lot of flexibility because you can create something using Edraw and use it in another application.

I look at a lot of shareware and Edraw is a joy to work with. It has excellent features and some unique things that make it truly special. While aimed at creating business graphics, it can also be of value to the home user. Classy programming, an intuitive interface, and extra help for beginners all go together to make this a winner! Give it a try.

EDraw Max is rather a lightweight yet incredibly powerful diagramming tool

Over the usual elements that you can see in any of similar solutions, EDraw Max provides a full power of modern interfaces, huge, smartly organized library of primitives, along with many examples and tutorials.

When you just start working with a new EDraw Max diagram, you’re asked to select its “kind“ and the software provides you with the corresponding primitives. Of course, you can always load more primitives or even search them by name. The kinds of diagrams available in EDraw Max cover all the areas you can imagine about schemes and diagrams: Flowcharts, DB architecture, Organization Charts, Mind Maps, Networks and much more, and there are several sections in the shapes library for each kind of diagrams, as well as several examples that come with the software. You can save your own shapes in the shape gallery for further usage.

As for drawing itself, EDraw Max provides a really convenient vector editor, with handy shapes grouping, locking and organizing, selection and zooming; you can control all the parameters (colors, fonts, and lines) of every shape, either yours or from the library. All the “beauty pictures” you’ve designed can be easily exported and printed in a strict correspondence with the screen picture. Reviewed by 3D2F.COM

Create professional quality drawings quickly and simply

EDraw is a powerful but easy-to-use drawing package for creating flowcharts, organization charts, fishbone diagrams, network diagrams, timelines, business presentations, and other diagrams. EDraw’s ease of use makes it particularly suitable for users who need to create professional quality drawings quickly and simply, without having to invest time in learning to use a complex application.

It includes more than 2000 pre-drawn shapes and symbols that you simply drag onto your drawing. With automatic formatting you can create professional diagrams. Shapes and lines automatically line up using EDraw’s snap-to grid and other alignment tools. Lines and curves that connect shapes together stay connected, even when you move the shapes. You can draw huge diagrams (up to 50 x 50 inches with thousands of symbols per drawing). SmartDraw is an OLE client, so you can transfer drawings to your word processor and other programs (for example, Microsoft Office, Word Perfect, CAD, etc.). The “attach” feature lets you link any file (even a Web page or a program) to any EDraw shape. It supports rich text editing so it is great for presentations. You can choose from a library of color schemes and shadow styles. Images can be imported or exported in WMF (Windows Metafile), EMF, BMP, GIF, JPG or TIFF, SVG, HTML, PDF. The TIFF files can be exported with multiple pages.

EDraw is designed so that users can begin working immediately, without having to read any documentation. It includes built-in hints, tooltips, online help, and a drag and drop drawing interface.

This new features in this update include: improved integration with Microsoft Office, the ability to align text on lines horizontally or along the line, new electronic manual, improved operation with Vista, export file formats now available in “Save As” function, faster file opening, and an improved installation program. EDraw = Porsche, Visio = Bus: A Love Letter

This is a BEAUTIFULLY DESIGNED AND WRITTEN little program. It is just a little GEM. Thank you so much. It does what it says it will do and does it very intuitively (to me, at least). Using EDraw is like driving a Porsche (compared with using Visio, which is more like driving a bus). Smooth, smooth, smooth drag and drop action. And, hold the phone!, things actually get rendered where you dragged them (take note Microsoft). Five stars, cows, monkeys, whatever scale you want to use! This program is designed and written like all Windows programs SHOULD be designed and written (but which very few are). Congratulations. You should give seminars to Microsoft designers and developers.

Cool Drawing Program

EDraw opens up artist’s toolbox for wealth of projects I review a lot of software, to the point that it becomes rather routine sometimes. I figured that would be the case this time: Look at the program, enjoy a few features, find the flaws and write it up. But this time was a little different. I actually got excited about a program. I know, you probably think I’m nuts. But, hey, this is a really cool drawing program.The program is EDraw, and it can help you draw just about anything and look totally professional doing it. I never imagined you could draw so many things, but EDraw handles them all: directional maps, org charts, software design, flowchart, network diagram, and the list goes on.

EDraw comes in five editions: EDraw Max, EDraw Flowchart, EDraw Orgnizational Chart, EDraw Network Diagrammer and EDraw Soft Diagrammer. I tried out EDraw Max, which is loaded with templates, examples and special features that make it worth the extra money. EDraw Max is very flexible on installation. You can just install the basics, which only take up about 10 megabytes of hard drive space. That should give you an idea of the enormous amount of stuff EDraw provides.

EDraw guides you through whatever tasks you want right off the bat. You can create a new drawing or open a template. The New Drawing window presents several possible projects, including maps, flowcharts, organizational charts or software design. From there. It also provides tips and tutorials to guide you through whatever project you undertake.

EDraw is loaded with so many features, I couldn’t get to them all even after days of experimenting. All kinds of tools are available and the full installation offers hundreds — if not thousands — of sample files, symbols and shapes. All those tools and samples can be intimidating, but EDraw is incredibly easy to use. It provides tools to draw all kinds of shapes, including rectangles, triangles, arches and beziers. Even if you can’t find the shape you want, EDraw provides another tool that allows you to freely draw shapes yourself.

The best part is you don’t have to be a master artist to use EDraw. Not only do you have tons of shapes and tools to work with, but it’s also easy to manipulate elements of the drawing by moving, rotating, resizing or flipping objects. In addition, pre-made objects and drawings are there to help you out. The Professional Plus edition offers another very cool feature: compatibility with Microsoft Word and Excel. You can import Word or Excel files directly into your drawing, and place them where you like.

Create a schematic representation of a process

EDraw Flowchart is a program intended for people who want to create a schematic representation of a process. It helps you organize and visualize any kind of data including work flow information, network transmission, computer software and so on. Aided by this program you can create presentations, flowcharts or diagrams.

Flowchart

Some samples are provided by the publisher. You can use these samples as templates, to learn how to use the program. Each object from the flowchart has a color scheme and an associated style (color properties, shadow position, transparency, and so on). There are some nice looking predefined styles, and you can also define your own drawing style.

You can insert many types of objects: lines, text, pictures, symbols, or connectors. OLE objects are supported, meaning that you can insert virtually any kind of document inside your flowchart. Excel, Word, PDF documents can be used in your flowchart using this option.

The user interface looks good, and most importantly is very easy to use. All predefined objects are organized into categories, making it easy to find what you are looking for.

Pluses: There are some computer users, like myself, who feel that a printed document is more easy to read than the computer screen. This program allows you to print any flowchart for reference purposes.

I really like this program

I really like this program. I used it years ago for a networking class, and it helped so much for students to actually design layouts with standard symbols used in the real world. It brought meaning to the class when they could actually print their diagram and hand it to a professional and have them understand exactly what was on the page.

Using Gdi+ in COleServerItem

Recently I tried to play the emf file in the COleServerItem, but failed all along. According to help document from Microsoft, the only method to convert emf file to wmf, then play it.

When COleClientItem::Draw calls the IViewObject2::Draw to render the cached metafile representation, it needs to receive a metafile and not an enhanced metafile. When COleServerItem::OnDraw is called, the DC passed is for a standard metafile, not an enhanced metafile, so the rendering into the DCneeds to be limited to items understood by a standard metafile.

I try the method, but the quality is very low.

If your server is using enhanced metafiles, and the client is asking it to render to an standard metafile, you need to make a conversion. You can use GetEnhMetafileBits() to get each command of the enhanced metafile and copy the commands to a standard metafile using SetMetafileBitsEx(), or you can use the GetWinMetaFileBits() function to make the conversion.

If Any body find a solution, please post it here. Appreciate any help!

The follow is my code:

BOOL CEditorSrvrItem::OnDraw(CDC* pDC, CSize& rSize)
{

HENHMETAFILE hEMF = pDoc->DrawToHEMF();
pMetaDC->PlayMetaFile(hEMF, reItem);
::DeleteEnhMetaFile(hEMF);
